Music for Guitar and Strings
”Music for Guitar and Strings,” on April 30, 2023 at Good Luck Cellars features several selections of Brazilian music for solo guitar, Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachiana’s Brasilierias No. 5 for Violin and Guitar, Niccolo Paganini’s Cantabile for Violin and Guitar and Sonata Concertata, Astor Piazzolla’s Café 1930 for Violin and Guitar, a tango medley arranged by Daniel Duarte, Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto in D-major for Guitar and Strings and Luigi Boccherini’s Grave assai, Fandango.
Performers include Moises Cunha, violin, Daniel Duarte, guitar and the Northern Neck Orchestra String Quartet.

“Piano Trios,” will be performed on February 26, 2023 at Good Luck Cellars, with Moises Cunha, violin, Jake Fowler, cello, and Dawoon Chung, piano . The program includes Arvo Part’s Mozart – Adagio, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Trio No. 1 (Divertimento) in B-flat, Claude Debussy’s, Piano Trio in G-major and Paul Schoenfeld’s Café Music.

Music for Horn, Violin and Piano
The series continues with, “Music for Horn, Violin and Piano,” on November 13, 2022 at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 S. Main Street in Kilmarnock, featuring Moises Cunha, violin, Lauren Hunt, horn, and Andre’ Golbert, piano. The ensemble will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in D-sharp minor, Franz Schubert’s Piano Sonata in A-minor and Johannes Brahms’ Horn Trio in E-flat major.

Comemorando os 70 anos do maestro Antônio Borges-Cunha, a Bell’Anima Produções Arscas, com apoio do Departamento de Difusão Cultural da Pró-Reitoria de Extensão da UFRGS, apresenta concerto dedicado à sua produção autoral no dia 29 de outubro, sábado, às 21h. A celebração reúne no palco do Theatro São Pedro, em Porto Alegre, os filhos do maestro, Vagner e Moisés Bonella Cunha; os pianistas Celso Loureiro Chaves e Ney Fialkow; o percussionista Ernesto Fagundes; e uma orquestra formada por trinta músicos, incluindo estudantes do curso de Música da UFRGS.

Violin & Piano Recital
The Northern Neck Orchestra’s 2022-2023 Chamber Music Series begins with “Music of America, ” featuring the world premiere of the Sonata for Violin and Piano: Central Park by the Northern Neck’s George Warren, William Grant Still’s Suite for Violin and Piano and John Adams’ Road Movies on Sunday, September 11 at 2 p.m. at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Goodluck Road in Kilmarnock.
The concert of music by American composers will be performed by Warren at the piano and Moises Cunha, the Northern Neck Orchestra’s Concertmaster and Principal Violinist, who is Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Series.

Northern Neck Chamberfest
The Chamberfest will conclude with “Bach to Beatles,” a modern reimagining of string quartets, showcasing masterworks by Johann Sebastian Bach and the Beatles most iconic songs on Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Luck Cellars, 1025 Goodluck Road, in Kilmarnock.
The performance includes Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and selections from the Art of the Fugue as well as John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s I Want to Hold Your Hand, Eleanor Rigby, Blackbird and Yesterday.

Northern Neck Chamberfest
The Chamberfest features two chamber music concerts performed by Moises Cunha, violinist Elizabeth Crute Cunha, cellist Jake Fowler and violist Alexander Smith, who also will serve as members of the Chamberfest teaching faculty.
The first concert of string quartets will present Joseph Haydn’s Quartet No. 2., Ludwig van Beethoven’s Quartet No. 2. and Hector Villa-Lobos’ Quartet No. 1. on Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street., in Kilmarnock.
